On June 5th, 1987, my life changed forever.
I woke up sick, shaking, and lost in a jail cell—unsure where I was or even why I was there. My body ached from withdrawal, and my spirit was empty. Another inmate called out, “Hey, is this you?” I walked over and saw my face on the morning news. The charges were severe: Kidnapping, Aggravated Robbery, and Attempted Murder.

In that moment, my whole life flashed before me. The shame, the pain, the years of running—from God, from myself, from everything. I felt a darkness so deep I wanted to disappear. I stumbled back to the window in my cell—too high to see anything but the sky—and whispered the only prayer I could manage:

“If You exist… help me.”

A few minutes later, something happened that words can barely capture. A peace settled over me—gentle, steady, undeniable. It was a love I had never known before. I didn’t understand it then, but I know now: it was God’s love and mercy, meeting me right there in my brokenness.

That day was both the worst and the best day of my life. It was the day my old life ended—and a new one began.
I have been sober since June 5th, 1987.

New Hope Enterprise was born out of that experience. It stands as a testimony that no matter how far we fall, God’s grace reaches farther. My mission is simple: to share the hope, healing, and redemption that found me that day—so that others may know, no story is beyond saving.
